1.6a oc my have to hit reset to start [bios flash] [vcore]

Q: I do not know whats going on, when I talk about overclocking and power to not start up, but when I hit the reset it boots fine. it would be too low I tried 1.42 to 1.55 thats according to the hardware monitor. It is still the 2G, but it runs fine up to 2136 (not tried higher). It is the same place as when I first had the system and a to recognize Northwood. Unlike inter alia, to reach and hit the reset after hitting the power it runs great, even in 2136 no problems what so ever, but its just shit, you know. any and all suggestions would help, Im new to all this. I just upgraded from a 1.6 is so even 233mx

forgot fly to note what I got
TH7 RAID-2 with1.6a
256 rram
gf3 ti-40g

ps 200
maxtor. temps never went above 45 even with stock sink and fan gamed and down for a few hours

Re:Update: I now have my 1.6A@2.4GHz without having to do the wire trick. I can live with having to hit the Reset button, rather than doing the wire trick and tempting fate. :) I forgot, now I only have to reset the bios settings occasionally.

Re:i have a geforce card, does that have anything to do with it?

Re:<< the problem is that during a bootup from the off position you only have default voltage. your bios doesnt add more voltage until it detects the cpu – which of course isnt going to happen w/o more voltage! ;)

you need to do the "wire pin trick". connecting certain cpu pins to create a higher default voltage.
ive done this easy mod on my P4 1.8A @ 2556. i now have 1.7v as default :) hope this helped. >>

I did not know that. No wonder, I have to hit Delete and reset the voltage. I suppose I'll have to do the wire trick as much as I hate to. I'm afraid the extra voltage will cause premature cpu failure.
using the sunflower hsf equivalent, so I guess I'm ready to do the wire trick. i/expressions/rolleye.gif Thanks for the info.

Re:I have the same problem, but it happens when I try to go over 1.9GHz. :(

Re:ditto with my p3, anyone know why this happens?

Re:I've got the same problem with my overclocked Duron.

Re:I have the same problem with my Athlon xp 1600+. I would love to know the answer. Anyone?
