1and1 help . phpbb admin and backup! [myphpadmin] [backups]
Q: I want to setup an automatic backup of my database and website hosted on my 1and1 account. Anyone have any ideas? Remember Im not a programmer, nor am I good with html or anything.
Secondly, I was told to avoid myphpadmin for use on my phpbb. Is there another option that works with 1and1 hosting? I just want to add more functions to the Board (through hacks), but Im 100% clueless here. This is another reason for the backup .

thats the problem, i've tried html and it bores me to death. i could never hack it as a programmer. (no pun intended) but i don't want this site to crash because i'd never be able to fix it properly.

Re:phpbb will back itself up. Dunno about automatically but you can do it through the admin panel. I think it just saves a big sql file that you can run against a new database to recreate it. As for hacks, there are some addons that are featured at the phpbb site, if you look around a bit you'll find them. Even easier would just be to get comfortable with php (and what better way than hacking up open source software
