A quick and (probably) easy question about Windows XP config. for dual boot . [norton ghost] [raid array]
Q: I have just a couple of SATA drives in a RAID 0 array. I then formatted it and used Norton Ghost to my Windows XP installation to copy my C: drive to the RAID array (Drive # 3 on my computer C: drive is # 1) Now Im trying to get my computer to boot to the RAID array and I troubles.
Would someone take a look at my boot config. and tell me what I doing wrong?
[boot loader]
timeout 14
default = = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (1) S
WINDOW [operating systems]
multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (1) WINDOWS = ” Microsoft Windows XP Professional 160 “/ fastdetect
multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (3) partition (1) WINDOWS =” Microsoft Windows XP Professional RAID “/ fastdetect
multi = multi

Why not just put the raid array in as the boot drives, reinstall xp, use a driver disk to install with right drivers, and go along your way, reinstalling everything – would be far easier than trying to troubleshoot why a non-raid setup xp won't work when you ghost it to a raid setup.
Nahhh, I think I'll just try FIXBOOT from the XP install cd.
I think that will fix it.

Re:Come on, this can't be THAT hard!!!??
Re:It says something to the effect of Drive 3 not bootable…
I'm sure it's just not set up right in the boot config. since it's a ghost image
Re:so what does it do why you try to boot?
