Oh yeah, I've also noticed that the general "techability" in OT is very limited.

As illustrated by our friends in this thread (http://{$MySite}/messageview.cfm?catid=38&threadid=1005896)

Indeed, and the whole thing is capped off with a RTFM. I think I've seen worse OT threads than that though.

Try reading this, but you might want to scroll down to the part for a network install.

Basically you need to create a boot floppy out of the network.img file from this site using one of the rawrites from .here.

Hmm..reminds me of the good ol' days when I used to do a network install for Mandrake in school ..even tried once for Suse.
Make sure you choose a good mirror.

My choices:
this (ftp://* ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/Mandrake/iso/)
this (ftp://* ftp://ftp.software.umn.edu/pub/linux/mandrake/Mandrake/iso/)
and this (ftp://* ftp://ftp.cse.buffalo.edu/pub/Linux/Mandrake/mandrake/iso/)
(not necessarily in the same order)

Yeah, there is, but you're in the wrong forum :P

This is a place where people's ideologies come to clash.. now, if you don't want to debate the merits of linux over windows, you're gonna have to ask in another forum.

That happens when someone posts something worthy of such a debate. You posting this comment doesn't exactly keep things oriented on the topic at hand, whereas if you hadn't, thing would have likely stayed on topic.

Oh yeah, I've also noticed that the general "techability" in OT is very limited.

Agreed, but I would change the "very" to "extremely".

Basically you need to create a boot floppy out of the network.img file from this site (ftp://mirrors.secsup.org/pub/linux/mandrake/Mandrake/9.0/i586/images) using one of the rawrites from .here (ftp://mirrors.secsup.org/pub/linux/mandrake/Mandrake/9.0/i586/dosutils).

Re:What's this Wrong Forum that you speak of? ;)

Anyways I just want to install it so I can play around with it and try and learn something different…

I'll look for what you mentioned. :)

You need to find network.img .. boot disk, should be on the mirror, I haven't done it in a while so I could be wrong.
