anyone have a Hauppauge 250 really works? [channel 3] [media center]

Q: If you have a Hauppauge 250, let me know how you have the setup, if I can not get this thing working.

I can not this thing work. I tried to bring the stuff, but it detects no remote (that works), so it will not proceed with the installation. I tried to setup using Sage, but it does not get any video (in wizard, if you manually set the audio and video are on , so it works, what I think).

Im trying to get the owner to get a grasp of technical support to get, and I try to find out also. I have no way was lucky to find any information via google.

Any recommendations would be helpful, including links, other forums, or software to try .

I forgot to mention about the included software . Me installed the original stuff, and I try both wintv2k wintv32 and programs to run, but an error comes something to the effect of “unable to creat TV window. I have everything removed and then reinstalled, and I get the same thing. I went and downloaded the latest drivers, and newest versions of both programs, and I still you the same.

Did you try the software it comes with, maybe it a bad card or screwed up install.

Matter of fact, I forgot to mention that. I installed the original stuff, and I try to run both the wintv2k and wintv32 programs, but an error comes up, something to the effect of "unable to creat TV window". I uninstalled everything, and then reinstalled it, and I get the same thing. I went and downloaded the latest drivers, as well as latest versions of the two programs, and I still ge the same thing.

I would guess something is screwy with a driver *somewhere*, but hard to say what. Try downloading AMCap and see if *that* can see the video/audio feeds. If not, something is definitely FUBARed.

I've been using their PVR150 (two of 'em, actually) for quite a while and am very happy with it.

The 250 has been around a long time with lots of satisfied customers.

I know that doesn't help you except to say its not the card.

I agree. It's not the card (maybe the software…), it's just a PITA. I'm trying to build a HTPC for someone, and it's just not working. And I'm sure there is a setting or something I'm missing. I was thinking about putting a capture card in my server, but I don't think I'll be going that route anymore…

Re:I had mine working in Sage for over a year. Great card.
