Anyone using the Linksys router with integrated Zone Alram Pro? [zone alram] [linksys router]
Q: Since the latest fimware supports the integration, Im just wondering what the benefit is and how well it works.
Re:After some research, I found that it really doesn't offer much (if any) extra protection at all.
Zone alarm must be installed on a machine on the network, and the router will only use the Zone Alarm integration on that particular machine. It offers no protectrion for your entire network.
If anyone has a better experience, please post it, otherwise I see no reason to use this "feature".
Re:It's my understanding that it's not really integrated at all–it's a really lame feature. All it does is make sure that the computers hooked up to it are running ZoneAlarm. If they aren't it won't let them access the internet. You still have to have ZoneAlarm on your PC to use the "integration".

Re:So did you guys figure out how to set zone alarm pro with the linksys. I'm setting up a small office latter this week, and I was wondering how the intergration works. I mean is zone alarm part of the firmware or do you have to install zone alarm on all clients
Re:I tried the ZA, but lost nearly all connectivity on ICQ and mIRC. So I switched it off. Maybe I am doing something wrong, so before I pass judgement on it, I am going to do some more research on it.
Re:Thanks for the reply.
I use zone alarm, but not zone alarm pro. If it works better integrated into the router, I would consider going to ZA Pro.
Re:I will let you know when I install Zone Alarm on each machine. I recently noticed that option in the latest firmware.
