ATI Radeon 9800 non-pro w / 250watt power supply [dell computer] [power supply]

Q: I know that the requirement for 9800 is a 300Watt or greater power. But the power that came with my is only 250watt. Will this lack of power to reduce my performace gaming? Ive noticed that when I play NFS Underground perforamce not as great as I thought it would be. It seems that my friend who has a 9500 w / a slower CPU running the game faster than a P4 2.6 HT I am.

I, 768MB DDR PC3200 RAM

Re:My matx PSU (180 watts) is pretty muched maxed with my p4 2.4c at 2.7ghz and an aiw9800. If I run the p4 at 3.0ghz the machine is very unstable. You should be OK

Re:i ran a 9700np on a "powerman" 250w for a week or so w/ no problems. if you're not having stability issues, i don't suppose you need to upgrade. but 300w power supplies are pretty inexpensive these days should you choose to upgrade.

Re:Too little power wouldn't cause a lower 3dmark score or slower game performance. It would cause instability and crashes. If it's not locking, Then I would say your ok.

Re:i think dell ships very good quality PSU. if it is enough for you, i don't know.

how many hdds, optical drives?

Re:he may be overclocking his card.

Re:Core Clock 385 MHz
