ATI RMA: They sent a AIW 7500 to replace 8500 64MB Retail [aiw 7500] [radeon 8500]
Q: OK: Guarantee RMAd a retail Radeon 8500 64MB AGP card, only thanks to a noisy fan. Before using this card, they just asked that a replacement fan mail, and let me install. Simple 5-minute swap with 4 screws holding the fan on the heatsink. They would not do, and I needed to send the card to them for repair. Then, instead of repair, they explained my 8500 map “defective” and sent me an AIW 7500 card replacement. So, the AIW 7500 card returned, and again sent me an ATI 7500 AIW card. Why do the ATI AIW 8500 and 7500 cards are equivalent, speed wise?: Frown:

Uh… a 8500 owns a 9200 performance wise.
8500 = 9100
9000 = 9200?

Uh… a 8500 owns a 9200 performance wise.

Re:They aren't substituting a card of similar or greater performance, but instead a card of similar or greater value. Tell them if they can't send you an 8500 they should send you a Ti4200 like the last guy suggested

Re:Just get in touch with them again and explain the situation. Tell them that if they can't substitute an ATI 8500, you'd like a Ti4200, which offers similar performance.
