Audigy 2 ZS just do not work with my box [sound blaster audigy 2] [audigy 2 zs]
Q: Hi I would really appreciate some help with my problem .
i have one custom-built machine and I wanted to upgrade my sound card of a 5 years old Soundblaster Live value to a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. I bought a card and it did not work, so I bought another card and did the same. what happens is that I put the card in the machine and it will start, and is recognized by Windows and installed the drivers from the creative drive. I can even sound to play at this point. However, once the computer reboots, Windows will never end boot, is just the Windows logo forever. I then manually restart and go to safe mode or in “last good configuration,” and when I go to the last good configuration If the auto-map to identify and try to it.
i did this over and Reinstall Again, I tried three different PCI slots, two different cards, and whatever happens, the computer will not boot when the card is installed. Why?
it is a new installation of Win XP Pro on a formatted hard disk . I again, and reinstall Windows to see whether that was it. value of the live card install and remove, but not the audigy 2.

Re:well i installed the VIA 4-in-1 drivers that i found on ABIT's website, and those included some INF drivers. that finally did the trick (after juggling PCI slots as well). thanks!
Re:i dont know if this is a bit late for your problem but that sounds EXACTLY like the problem my friend had with the soundblaster live 5.1 card.
he installed the card, did everything you did but on re-boot it got to the loading screen and wouldn't go any further.
it turned out that the sound card wouldn't run on a system with the FSB any higher than 120mhz (or something like that)
so i suggest you try running the system at 100mhz FSB to see if it sorts it, if not then get another sound card.
i just bought the same card but i am getting a different problem, it works fine but then my system will crash after about 10 minutes of use or thereabouts. i tried the FSB and drivers etc but it still wont work, i have a shuttle SN41G2 by the way and was thinking it might have something to do with being incompatable with the nforce boards, but i am still unsure.
Re:Did you first remove the old sound drivers?
Re:You can download the chipset inf from your motherboard web site or from the CD rom.
Re:thank you for your response, no i didn't have onboard sound on the motherboard. what is chipset inf files? and yes i did try the driver update from creative labs' web site but that didn't do anything either.
Re:Did you have on board sound? If so, try to disable. Also, Did you install chipset inf files and SB Audigy2 driver update from the web?
