Q: I preffer it on the PC because my rig is pretty powerful, but I can do to console (GC or PS2). Buddy of mine says that (http://www.easports.com/games/mvp2004/home.jsp) otherwise incredible.

Anyone want roads?

Baseball Instructional Video Set – The Mental Game
Re:Originally posted by: guy
I can only answer the first question as I don't have the game. Barry Bonds is choosing not to take part in the MLBPA licensing. So for a game, card company, whoever to include him they have to negotiate directly with Bonds and his agents. Basically he wants to market himself seperately from the rest of the Players Union. I think most companies are (smartly) choosing to just leave him out of their products instead of paying the high prices for licensing that Bonds demands. I don't think he is the only player doing this, but the others are relative nonames so people don't really notice.

Boooooooooooo!

Transforming Your Baseball Field into a Winning Field
Re:Ok guys, I DL the demo and loved it. Then went out and purchased the game! WOW! I havent played a in years so I'm completely blown away by this!

I do have some questions though.

1) Where is Barry Bonds?
2) Are there any good guides or can anyone offer some strat for feilding?
3) God, the documentation that comes with the game is horrible. (ok, not a Q but a comment) :-P
4) Any other tips or words of advise?

I'm currently playing on beginner because I'm such a newb to this game. I originally had it on Pro, but I had a difficult time feilding the ball.

Anyways, thanks guys!

I guess you're talking about an action as opposed to a strategy one (where you manage the team as opposed to swinging the bat)?

You recommend any that are strategy? I use to love some of those all Rotiserie style games.

I bought this game last night and I had the first MVP Baseball 2004.

There is a bug with left handed batters where they don't hit near as far as right handed batters and the ball seems to drop quicker.

BTW whoever wrote that your gamepad isn't supported, mine wasn't either but you can go into your controller.cfg file and change the name to the name of your gamepad and it will work. ;)

It is a pretty good game.. and like he said, if you miss on timing just a little bit, then you don't hit the ball or just barely get a hold of it. I am pretty decent at hitting it though, just chase the ball too often.

Thats interesting, b/c I just DL the demo and played it. Everything worked w/o a hitch! Wow, what an impressive game! I was able to pick up on the controls very quickly b/c they just made sense. I think I'll be buying this today :)

Learn Baseball Hitting Tips for Coaches and Players & Dominate
Re:Significantly harder than last years edition at Pro level (second easiest). I think there should have been a intermediate difficulty level between the Rookie and Pro levels.

You need to tweak the sliders. Opponents hit the ball far too often through the gaps and you see alot of in-the-park homers. This really shouldn't happen but your OF foot speed is so slow at the default levels that it takes 'em forever to get to balls hit to the wall.

Overall a good game as long as your expectations are reasonable.

I have this Logitech gamepad. Should be supported, right? (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=11,CONTENTID=6951)Yes… it's recommended by a few people on the EAgames forum.

That should work.

Re:Like everyone had said, you need a game pad. I am using a Playstation gamepad for it.

Re:I've got for PC, it's pretty good. Make sure you have an analog gamepad, that's all it supports. THe keyboard play blows bigtime.

Re:If you're going to get the PC version, make sure you have one of the gamepads it supports. I had to buy it for GCN because it doesn't support my gamepad on PC.

IMO, MVP Baseball is the champ this season. I have it for the XBOX, and can't say enough good things about it. Pitching is very well done, in terms of making you work for both accuracy and effectivness. Hitting is solely based on timing, and you feel a sense of achievement on great hits.

Just like every other game, this one has it's kinks. But you can't go wrong with it.

I saw on the box that there is some new hitting system. You don't just press a button to swing anymore? Keep in mind that I have not bought or played a in years.

MVP Baseball on PC is probably the best… but make sure you have a gamepad. Some functions (like sliding and leading off, etc.) don't work with the keyboard. They simply cannot be set.

I do have a gamepad, but how great is it on a scale of 1-10? Are the announcers good? GFX? Real players are present, right?

Re:I have a friend who also bought MVP Baseball 2004 for his computer a couple weeks ago. He seems to like it. I'm not in to sports games myself.
