Can I connect to the router via. Wire u0026 Wireless @ same time? [netgear wireless] [ports]
Q: Recently I just bought a Netgear wireless router, to my surprise, it also has 4 ports that I did not know. Now if my computer has a reg. LAN card and wireless card, can I connect to my router both @ the same time to increase the transfer?
Thanks.

Re:Yeah. If you can connect via wired instead of wireless, then just do that, if you want more performance. Connecting both ways is useless, plus, you have the wireless security issues to worry about.

Re:….AND, you will have created a layer two loop, which is likely to cause a broadcast storm.
Any time you have parallel routes between the same locations without something like Spanning Tree enabled (or a router in the way), you have a loop, you'll have broadcast storms, and you won't get any traffic through at all during the storms … which are pretty much perpetual once they get going (until the switch(s) die).

Re:I have 2 computers, both PCs have wireless and reg. LAN cards installed, so just curious if I can speed up the transfer between the 2 PCs via router using this method.
