Can I use this old ATX power supply into? [atx motherboard] [pin connector]

Q: I have this old food I got from an old computer. The problem is that the motherboard connector is a 12 instead of the standard ATX type. Can I convert so I can use it with an ?


Best Answer: it would be cheaper and easier in the long run to get a cheep power supply for $50 then try to monkey around and possibly fry the board

Re:main difference between AT and ATX is the fact that ATX has 3.3/5/12v rails, vs. AT which just has 5/12.

AT also doesnt not have the ability to be software-shutdown. (power switch is hard wired)

Re:Even if you rewire the connector, old AT powersupplies do not have the 3.3-volt line that ATX motherboards require.

Re:My self I would not risk the chance of rewiring the PSU. You never know it could fry something out on the next board you use it one.

Just buy yourself a PSU – you can get them for cheap in the FS/T Forum.
