Can not online with you. NET Framework installed? [shxt] [programming class]

Q: My brother bought Visual Studio. NET for programming, taking his class. When he installed on his computer (XP Pro) is not longer capable of internet.

This happened before when. NET framework was installed as an automatic update, and when I uninstalled it started working fine under again.

What doing it. NET Framework to do so no internet access? Is there a way to solve the problem without uninstalling the program? He should be all. NET for his class, so I can not accept off.

The weird thing is, I still can see his computer on the network and am able to share his files for him, but he can not see its end: confused:

NEVERMIND, I just formatted. Works ever time.

Re:I never have either but I have heard of another person having this problem. No one knows?

Re:I've been running Visual Studio .NET since the first release, and moved to 2003. I have also run the .NET framework since the beta release. I have never experienced such a problem.

Re:Does he have any firewall software running (XP firewall, Zone Alarm, etc.)?

Re:This is interesting. Anyone?

Has he lost network connectivity all together? If you go to Start / Run and type ipconfig, is an IP address listed? Have you tried updating the network card drivers?

DHCP isn't working for some reason, so I set the IP static and set the gateway correct (Linksys Router).

I just updated the drivers and he can browse the network and send files back and forth, but no internet connectivity.

This problem only occurs after the .NET framework has been installed.

Re:That is odd. I would like to know the solution to this as well. A few of my friends had this happen (Just lost internet) and I wonder if that .NET framework is the problem. Bump for you.
