Away from the swap file w/2GB RAM? [speed ram] [swap file]

Q: OK, I will build a new P4 3.0 system soon u0026 Im debating get 1GB or 2GB RAM. I will be OCing, so Im going to get high-speed RAM, but I was wondering if I have 2GB RAM (4 x 512 MB DIMMs) if I could get rid of the Win XP swap file to improve performance. Has anyone tried this? 2GB RAM and no swap file?

IE is a new behavior that it has never been exhibited, and it makes me a wall. Cause is unknown, but probably one of the XP updates or register hiccup.

Normal:

1) manually start IE in the first instance of IE will open where you last left. Second instance of IE open a bit lower and to the right of that.

2) Click on a link in an email or document the same – in the first instance will open where y

Q: One day Ill probably buy a laptop, and probably will for the school in 2004. I know that things can change by then, but for the sake of argument, lets say I buy one today. If I was going to pry, whether it comes with OS, PowerBook, a substantially faster (with Debian (or a Linux distro) installed) than a similar spec-ed x86 laptop?

I have not seen benchmarks using Linux for comparing a P4 to a G4. Would not that even the playing field, so the real speed demon to Its show face?

Q: I use W2K Advanced Server, W2K Server u0026amp; W2K Pro at home, but Im the only person to use it, so Im not worried about the security log. I think I heard that there is a way to “turn off” Log On startup function. Did not you change the registry or something so that W2K will be automatically logged into the system, but it will do hidden? I hope I did not sound confused

Question on Windows XP Pro [retail product] [product numbers]

Q: Hi, I have a promotional

I version of Windows XP Pro full version last fall. It looks exactly like the retail product that you buy in the shops, but its UPC: 659556860042 and it is a number on it that says: 0801 Part No. X08-46836.

Does everyone knows what these numbers mean? They look different than the retail product numbers, but as I said, this box is exactly like the retail product that I see in the stores.
