Computer keeps leftovers ring boat [anti virus software] [adobe audition]
Q: Hey guys,
My buddy was installing Adobe Audition on his computer when suddenly the computer reset itself. Upon restart, it is the “Select Mode boot screen. No matter which option is chosen, the computer restarts after boot. So I put the Windows CD, try reinstalling Windows and repair option, but every time blue screens and says “Make sure no anti-virus software installed, and to run chkdsk / f” but I can not of both. Any help would be appreciate, thanks.
Best Answer: yea its a virus of some sort reinstal it but let someone who knows a lot about computers do it
Re:1. Check and make sure your cooling in the system is intact. Make sure the CPU cooler is not broke off in anyway.
2. Got a extra PS? If you do, try changing it out.
3. If you have 2 sticks of ram, try pulling one out.
4. What type of hard drive do you have? I know Western Digital has a program you burn to CD and boot too. You will be able to test the drive with it. Do not write zeros to the drive.
Hope this helps!
Re:Hardware failure. If you are getting a blue screen with the install program then something is wrong with the hardware.
Burn this (http://www.memtest86.com/#download0) to a cd and boot from the cd. Let it run overnight. If the ram passes then you have another problem.
Re:Thanks for the reply, but I already tried.
Re:Try resetting the CMOS. Either a jumper on the board or simply removing the CMOS backup battery.
Re:Sorry for the bump, is there anyone who can help resolve this?
Thanks.
