Corsair RAM: value or no value? [whta] [thanks in advance]

admin / March 4th, 2011/ Posted in Hardware / No Comments »

Q: the difference, besides price, the value and the non-value Corsair RAM? VC RAM and better than both? .

Best Answer: Value Select – Usually these are just for budget computers. It helps you through multi processing productivity applications, Internet, etc. Not intended for intensive gaming.

Server Memory – Only used in Servers

Partner Memory – Won't need that

XMS Memory – The best memory that Corsair offers. Used for gaming and extensive graphics production. If you have a powerful computer and play games a lot, this is the RAM you go for. Comes in overclocked and regular mode flavors.

Re:probably the value is CAS3, where the non-value is CAS2. that would be my guess. i think VCRAM only works on some motherboards. I would just go with standard SDRAM, or some of that kingmax tinyBGA stuff. IT ROCKS FOR CHEAP but SHH dont tell anyone: on an ASUS CUSL2, i got 2 sticks of kingmax tinyBGA PC150 ram to do CAS2 at 143mhz. (p3-700 @ 143mhz = 1000mhz!)

my friend is going to be impressed with his new machine :] btw i bought the kingmax for $90 / 128megs on mwave.com
