CRC error in WinXP (SP2 32bit Ver) on AMD64 system [amd64 3000] [exe files]
Q: Im not sure what was wrong since the first time I have 64bit CPU utilization. I have an AMD64 3000 + Venice CPU and all tests were running well without problems. I can download exe files and maybe some small rar or zip files and run them with no problem, but as long as rar or zip files are large, I will always be CRC error here and there. Same file will download two files two different CRC-error result, but whatever happens, it will error out. I wonder what happens on my system? Anyone can help?

Re:Found it. Its the damn NIC card. The Nvidia NIC card is a junk. I pull the same thing down with the Marvell NIC and it doesn't have any problem but got CRC error from the nVIDIA NIC. I will call the manufactory.

Re:Try taking a RAR file from another computer that you *know* works and then transfer it to your computer, attempt to open the file and if it gets a CRC error, then its a hardware issue..

Re:I had memtest on for more than 6 hours with no errors and I even load back the factory default and it is still happening. But I will try to run memtest again today and see how it goes. Is 32bit apps fully compatible on AMD64 bit processor?
Edit: I even had prime95 run for 12+ hours, OCCT passed, 32M PI passed.

Re:try running memtest on your memory. CRC errors are often memory problems. Run the test for a while, preferably overnight. If it comes back fine, then try testing your HDD or even swapping out the SATA\IDE cable.
