Do you think you could help me to find a graphics card for my friend? [half life 2] [integrated graphics]
Q: He says he can spend $ 100, he has a $ 400 Dell (including the price of the monitor), and wants to play for something better than integrated graphics. He has a 2.9Ghz celery, 256MB ram, 40gig hdd, you get the picture. He should play at 1280×1024, and the absolute worst game he probably will ever play (in terms of graphic stress), the half life 2/CS source. All other games as Dungeon Siege, etc. I was thinking 7300GS, but do you think you could find something better?
P.S. He says hes spending $ 100 INCLUDING shipping.

actually, i would just get him more ram. ive heard that the low-end dell computers dont have slots for video cards.

looking at those specs i doubt he even has a pci-e slot. Dell doesnt normally have pci-e video card slots on their low end comps.

Re:Does he have a PCIe slot? How about springing for a gig of RAM, or 512 if a gig is too much, and then a used X800GTO or something else that would have been heavily discounted.

Re:try the geforce 7300 gt when it comes out.It's bound to be better than all the entry level cards that are there right now.If u can't wait,get a radeon x1300 pro or if ur friend can spend $20-30 etc a radeon x1600 pro.
