Dual Channel RAM can be mixed with non-dual channel? [dual channel ram] [motherboard]
Q: My motherboard has 4x 184pin DDR slots. It supports dual channel, it means that I dual-channel use? Can I use two of the slots for dual-channel and the other two for the non-dual channel?

Re:So with 4 x 512MB identical sticks on a Venice core, I'll be running at DDR 400 2T, correct?
Re:Do a search here in the forum Pretty extensive bandwidth tests show that outside of SiSandra the 1t way outperforming 2t myth has been discredited. Most tests show 1 to 2% difference in performance. SiSandra being a notable synthetic exception

My current bandwidth is ~5400 MB/s. I'll assume that means I'm running at 1T, right?
I don't want to lose performance, but I do want to upgrade to 2GB memory. Is there a way to do this without replacing my current 2 x 512MB pair with a 2 x 1GB pair?
No, with 4 sticks, you have no choice but to go 2T.

Re:Memory itself is never "dual channel".
Your memory controller on the CPU decides if a pair of memory runs in dual channel mode or not.
If you have 4 sticks with a Venice Core, you will be running 2GB memory in dual channel mode @ 2T timmings.

If I buy another 1GB kit of the above RAM, will my total 2GB be running at DDR400 Dual Channel?
