Easy way to get new OEM format hard drive [partitioning] [formatting]

Q: I seem to always probs. the original partition and format a new drive . in external USB enclosure .
Is a simple method .?

Re:Boot into Windows, plug in the drive and let Windows install the drivers. Then go to My Comuter > Manage > Disk Manager. Select the new drive and format it. It's really simple.

Boot your OS with the drive connected and use fdisk/format to prepare it, don't understand the problem.

What is your OS? can you see the unit connected to he bus?

Re:What problem are you having? I always though was straight forward. Typing "format c:" in ms-dos or just doing it when you install windows. Those seem easy to me. Too hard for you?
