Hard drive says it is not partitioned [disk management] [hard drives]
Q: This problem is a friend of mine. One of his drives suddenly says it is not formatted and asks to do this when you click. He says hes not sure what the cause. Disk Management says there is no file system and 100% of the free. He really has data back.
What he can do?
Thanks!
EDIT: He is running Windows XP and a 160GB IDE drive.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe a fdisk /mbr on that drive might do the trick.

This has worked for me a half dozen times, and I've recommended it here and had people report back that it worked for them
