Best Answer: Are you sure you are downloading the correct drivers for your operating system.

Also it could be your video card has gone bad and not working properly when it gets any load on it.

Nvidia 8300? That is a really low end video card I have never seen one. You would probably be good to get a new video card.

If you have been running a 8300 then this 8400 would be an upgrade and cheap.

Re:I had this problem recently too. I was reading somewhere that the GF2 MX400s didnt support the DVI output real well. Something like they had trouble holding the proper frequencys. Like it was said above, make sure that you are using the correct driver for the monitor. That did clear up the problem for me.

Re:maybe the monitor doesnt support the resolution, have you tried safemode? you say its a flatscreen, is that an LCD flat screen, because for the most part, they support upto 1024×768, and so if you wer running at 1152×864 or 1280×1024, or something a bit higher than that, it might be confused a bit

Re:drivers for my monitor?.. i didnt now i needed any.. i have tried using the regular OUT rather then the DVI out with this video card.. and a different monitor and i got the same problem.

i can try another card.. but i want to try to get this new flatscreen to work

do i need special drivers from Nvida to use the DVI out?

thanks
