Help! Chkdsk can not run in win2k [unspecified error] [boots]
Q: but when I run chkdsk, it says u0026quot; u0026quot; chkdsk unspecified error so he tried again two times, but it says the same thing and just boot into Windows (without finishing chkdsk). So try this every time it boots up.
how can I fix this? : Confused:
thanks!
Re:but there're still some corrupt files that doesn't let chkdsk finish..
Re:no disk performance problems or anything. everything is as fast as ever.
i'll try that, tho.
Re:Sorry for the redundant comment, wanted to be sure. Are you having any performance problems, or disk writing errors while in Win2k? Can you try running chkdsk from a command prompt? That or try chkdsk /f (again from the commadn line) and when it asks if you want it to try at bootup, say no. It should then skip the chkdsk procedure.
Re:So you are saying that chkdsk runs at bootup everytime, but never finishes?
Re:Sorry then I'm out of the race. No Win2K experiences here.
Re:no scandisk in win2k, just chkdsk……afaik
Re:Actually I am very surprised there is something named chkdsk in Win2K I though it was gone with Win 3.11.
