Help my grandpa playing checkers – COOKIES PROBLEM [msn gaming zone] [play checkers]
Q: My grandfather spends his life with stones on the MSN Gaming Zone. He can not log into msn passport because he says its not browser cookies enabeled. Well, they are on. I dropped cookies and security is so low on this thing peple are probably looking for his hard drive on an accident. Ive tried three different versions of IE explorer to the latest 5.o back to something. Why is it saying cookies are not enabled? I even DLed Netscape Navigator, but the game field will not let you Netscape. This should not be a problem, this may be a virus or something?

Re:Well, thanks for the suggestions and replies. I have tried everyhting that was mentioned short of looking in the registry. I think I'll just wip it clean and reinstall windows on it. Just have to pick a copy of 98 now.

Re:Did you try manually deleting all his cookies? Checking the registry for the site in question? Forcing a refresh (Shift+Refresh or Ctrl+Refresh, I forget which)?
Otherwise I'm not sure what would be doing it. Most likely when a setting becomes borked it has to do with something in the registry — most likely hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/internet explorer OR hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/internet explorer

Re:I have enabled cookies under advanced options, and MSN is not listed under the blocked sites.
The wierd thing is that it doesn't happen all the time.

Do you have MSN blocked in the "Restricted Sites Zone"?

FYI, I dont have any Ad-blockers running in the background…

Re:Is he using any pop-up blocker? I've used WebWasher and Proximitron and they both can block cookies. Otherwise, might look at firewall, proxies, etc…
