How do I check if I have a firewall? [norton antivirus] [firewall]
Q: Many are saying that I am behind a firewall . but i dont know Im behind a firewall . I have only Norton AntiVirus, which is not a firewall . is their anyway to check if I have a firewall?
Best Answer: Dell sucks. I have 2 XPS-410's and Dell never offers much help when you contact them. yes you do need to run virus scan's every now and then.open start-control panel-then see if security center is there. if not have you tried system restore to a date before this started?if not do so now.if this dont help remove McAfee from the add&remove tool. then reinstall it. this should start it working right again.you can download it from there web site if you dont have the disk. good luck,and you can email me if you need more help.

Re:Right-click "My Network Places" and choose Properties. When that comes up, right-click your Network Connection and choose Properties. On the Advanced tab, you'll see whether the firewall is enabled or not.

Re:What kind of DSL router/modem do you have? Some are just DSL modems while others have actual router/firewall functions built-in.
Also, like was said, you may have Windows XP firewall turned on. (or do you have anything installed like Norton Internet Security or Zonealarm?)
