How do I make my WinXP folder settings? [windows folder] [folders]

Q: I have this problem where everytime I reboot or shutdown, my settings will not be saved. For example, I want the status bar, but that disappears after a reboot and I have to check again upon restarting. The setting for “arrange icons” always gets back to name, where certain that I want to keep it at date created. Its annoying b / c I have to go to decide the details and every time I check again. I do not know if this is normal or not, I figure maybe I removed a feature in Windows to store when I was doing more tweaking . Any ideas?

Re:Also in "Folder Options", make sure "Remember each foler's view setting" is checked.

I did that, Wart.

For example, I go to my E:\ drive in Windows Explorer and set the files to show details. Then I go under Tools and apply the options to all . Now if I exit and go back into Explorer and go to my C:\ drive, it wants to show the files as the large icons.

Is there a known bug or something else I am missing?

File/folder view setttings are saved on a by volume basis. If you apply settings to on the E: drive they will not carry over to other volumes. You have to repeat the process for all the volumes in your system.

Re:Set a folder to the options you want > goto Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to All

That should do the trick.

Re:I'd like to know as well….I have the EXACT same problem :(
