How do I swap in Win2K? [paging file]
Q: How do I swap in Win2K?
I tried to put to zero, but the limited me.
I want to be able to reset or use all the ram before it uses the swap.

If so, I would just follow the other advice and make it as small as possible, probably keeping it around 20 MB

Re:BTW, WinNT/2K is far better than Win9x in terms of memory management. Unless you are running some crappy programming, most/all of RAM will be used before touching virtual memory.

Re:You cannot disable the paging file. Regardless of how much RAM you have, NT will still use the page file occasionally for certain housekeeping tasks. I have servers with 4GB RAM and the swap file occasionally gets hit even when the server is idle.

No, the system.ini file has nothing to do with Win2K. That line is for Win9x OS's only.

Re:Why not just set it to something like 20 MB? It's as good as turned off, and Win2K won't whine. That's what I did.

Re:u cant turn it off i dont think.. but there is a commnd u can put in ur system.ini file but i just formated my comp and dont remember the command.. search the forums
