How good is nForce2 onboard sound? [creative soundworks] [onboard sound]

Q: How good is really nforce ?
Would I better off with an Audigy or save the cash and using the ?

Im DTT 2500 speakers, which can be improved on.
Would I notice the difference considering I notice a difference between WMP and Winamp?

I not have much money, but I like my sound, so its a budget about the ears of decision

Re:Epox 8RDA+ is missing the spdif connection in order to be soundstorm certified. But you can order that from Epox. 8RDA FAQ (http://www.motherboardfaqs.com/article.php?22.255)

The only reason that the A7N8X Deluxe isn't certified is because Asus uses their own driver set and not the reference nVidia drivers. All of the hardware is there. The Abit NF7-S would probably be my choice after the A7N8X-D. Peace.

what you mean its not certified? its got soundstorm certified written all over the box. i ought to sue them for false advertising:disgust:

Well considering my budget, I think I'll stick with the onboard then

Question – Which motherboard are you getting? Some lack the MCP-T revision which carries the Soundstorm tag.

- M4H

Only three (3) motherboard mfg's that use the MCP-T are SoundStorm certified (http://www.nvidia.com/object/motherboards.html).

Re:I think you will be more than pleased with nForce2 onboard audio

Me personally I don't think there is any reason to replace it unless you want audiophile sound like M-Audio and Terratec. Then you have to drop mega G's on audiophile speakers that can take advantage of that level of detail.

Re:nVidia Soundstorm is said to be comparable to an Audigy, but remember that just because you have an nForce2 motherboard does not necessarily mean that it has the Soundstorm .

Re:if it is soundstorm, it is equivilant to an audigy (not an audigy 2)

Re:The sound on my Asus A7N8X Deluxe and Logitech Z-640s is great, I see no reason to buy a separate card unless you need some special feature that SoundStorm doesn't offer.
