HP 722 and Win2k . anyone else having trouble? [hp 722c] [problem hp]
Q: I just updated my parents computer to Win2k. Now install a standard NT4 driver for printing to the HP 722C. I cannot even print out a test page, much less anything else. The printer is connected to the computer and is automatically recognized when I booted the computer. There are no Win2k drivers to download. Someone else knows how to solve this problem?
Re:Does the printer work on another PC? (my old 722c just up and died a while back, seemed to be fine in Control Panel, but wouldnt print?)
Re:nope no test pages at all… it sends the info to the printer and then I get nothing….. hmmm
Re:Sorry, none here, cant even print a test page?
Re:i reset the PP to ecc +epp and no dice…. any other ideas?
Re:Oh, I thought it was a 2000 upgrade.
Maybe try cancelling the auto detect printer and manually installing it?
Maybe the BIOS needs to have the LPT port set for ECP+EPP?
Re:i did install from scratch. I have sp3 on as well. it detects the printer and installs the default drivers but I still cant print with it
Re:I have an HP 722c printer connected to my 2000 server box, it auto detected it upon startup and then installed default 2k drivers, work fine.
The 2000 was an upgrade from what? NT4? or 9X?
Worse case scenario is a reinstall from scratch, not an upgrade…of course thats not what you want to hear though.
Re:HP computers suck. I just got done doing a windows 2k install and what a major pain it was. A combo sound/modem driver is super hard to find but I finally found it. Some people will post that we do have a hardware forum here;)
