Re:I don't think the graphics will be all that bad. They aren't going to be anywhere near the ps3 or 360 but there is no reason why they won't improve over the next couple years. Even the newer ps2 games are looking better and better because they have finally learned how to squeeze every bit of power out of it.

Re:Why can't they make the GC more fun and just release the motion controller for it? It's not like it's a revolutionary technology or anything. It's just marketing. It's another $250 for a new GC with a new controller.

It's not a FPS really.
Not an FPS AT ALL. FPS stands for first person shooter, which means you visually assume the role of the person (see it from their eyes). GoW is 3rd person, you can see 'yourself' all the time from above.

You're right though, launch titles typically will not look nearly as good as games that come to the system a year or two down the road. I typically look at how the system plays games over how it looks, but Gears of War is just looks so durn pretty! Of course, when X360 titles were first coming out they weren't all that impressive. It takes developers some time to get the hang of it!

On a light note, I'm really looking forward to trying out CoD3. I pre-ordered it along with Zelda.
Re:I don't see why you should be concerned about how future titles will look. You can expect launch window titles to be rushed, however Zelda does not. If anything, Zelda should be an indication of where the bar should be set for graphics.

Once again though it's not going to be a powerhouse machine. Nintendo told everyone they were going for "fun factor" over graphical monster. A little eye candy never hurt nobody though

), so maybe I'll get to play with it get a bit of a better opinion. Nice part is, theoretically, without a driver's license, you can't play… so that keeps the grubby little kids off of it!
I remember playing StarFox on the GameCube in Wal-mart and some kid just comes up and takes the controller from me going "I want to play!!" when I had only been playing for a minute or two. Little brats . If only kicking kids wasn't illegal or something…
