I got to my seat with vid card every day! [video card]
Q: Every day when I get home, I reseat my video card. I read something about how, when the computer is really hot and then cools rapidly, and un-exspansion exspansion can make the parts to move slightly. My vid. card is overclocked to hell. Maybe it gets really hot, then when I turned off, it cools down quickly and move? I have no idea what else could make me my vid card seat with every day. Any advice?: |

Re:I had the problem with a screw also, but the card got twisted so much that it didn't work at all. My video card works fine, but when I turn off my PC, go to bed, go to school, and come home, it needs reseating. So, I doubt it's the screw. I'll try both of those anyway.

Re:Loosen the screw that is holding the card in place. I had this problem with a modem once where the card was getting twisted just enough to lose it's connection due to being screwed in too tight. This could be part of your problem, or not. It can't hurt to try.

Re:I don't know if thermal expansion could result in required reseating of your video card on a daily basis, but it wouldn't hurt to test your theory. Stop overclocking for a few days and see if anything changes.
