Incoming email works but not outgoing? [mail works] [outgoing mail]

Q: Hi, Im here at work trying to put their e-mail addresses, and was only provided with the address, username / password. I suspected that the servers mail.domainname.com, and it worked out for incoming, it seems – but I can not send . At first I was sure I just did not type well, or the server had a different name. But to verify this, I set up my own pop3 email that always work . And the same happened with all the correct information – incoming work, but not outgoing 0.

What do you think?

Re:Ok, it seems the problem has been resolved.

Thanks for all the great help. ;)

Re:OK this is really weird. I set the outgoing server to the ISP's, as instructed by the hosting company. I can send emails just fine now. I can't receive at all though! If I do it just says failure notice! How can I fix this? It is "checking" for received emails just fine, but nobody seems to be able to actually send emails to that address.

I tried sending an email to the address FROM itself, but I haven't received a failure notice, nor the actual email. *shrug*

Re:I tried emailing to the address that receives but not sends – and when I attempt to send there, I get (IP Address) does not like recipient. And also "… Relaying denied". What the… ?

Re:I got into the router settings. Anything I should look out for there?

Re:I tried… same thing. :(
I sent an email to the hosting company. If I don't get a response I think I'll just call. However, I think it could possibly be a router issue – maybe the outgoing smtp ports are blocked for some unknown reason. But I can't access the router, because it's password protected and I can't find the manual anywhere! Argh

edit: The specific error message I get is "The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.domainname.com', Server: 'mail.domainname.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0×800CCC0E"

Re:Try using SMTP.domainname.com for outgoing, that sometimes works. Or just call your ISP.
