Instant Client Request [versions of aim] [aim support]
Q: I use MSN 3.2 + Deadaim for a long time. But I realized there are two possibilities I really want to use AIM: invisible status and messaging, while away. I know the newer versions of AIM support invisible status out of the box, but I do not want to give up the benefits of deadaim (login, no ads). Any suggestions for an alternative?
Note: I do not want to pay 5 U.S. dollars for the new deadaim if I do not have to.

Re:gaim does the messaging while away…i'm not sure about the invisible status, but i think it does that too. i feel like gaim is cleaner and less bloated that trillian is, but thats just imo.
Re:Except for invisible status Trillian does not support for AIM client. Invisible status will work with ICQ and Yahoo clients.

The latest version of AIM it supports is 5.5.3595, but I use 5.5.3595 and it has the ghosting feature you want, and middle_man supports messaging while away.

Like when you have your status set as away, it still accepts messages?
Yeah, Trillian will do both.
