Is it posible to run on Linux? I need it for homework [homework] [chemistry]

admin / June 14th, 2010/ Posted in Operating Systems / No Comments »

Q: ~ ~ Because my Win2k installation is below and I will not have time for a long time to make (: () I guess Im forced to use linux and I kinda have to learn a lot more now . 0.
Now one of the things I need to do is called “MCWEB” for its chemicals and as an online ~ ~ I MUST thes things, but they did not mention that the software runs on Linux.

Now the http://mc.nacs.uci.edu/mcweb/

In site is left are two links that talk about what is needed. The main thing needed is “Authorware Web Player” which looks like a Flash / Macromedia thing (I can not Get Flash installed on my computer ~ I always tried firefox and drag the files that were needed in the plugins directory, but it did not work. I also tried the installations of how that went into the specifcied. gz file I got from Macromedias site and that is not the problem) . but it is Windows only. Is it only for Windows, or is this the narrowness of my professor who does not realize its just Flash or Shockwave or whatever? Is there a way to running to get? Since each takes a while (the last set I have two of them, a total of approximately 3 hours) so I just can not leech off PC my friend. . .

Thanks guys ~ I must now head out for my run, and if I get answers if I bacak all love you forever (especially since I have some due)

Shoot….that is the thing, but it only has windows versions it seems ><

You'd think they'd get a flly compatable version :\

Kinda Ironic how for the first time I have to use linux and i'm willing to go through a bitch because I need to get it to work…but I have to use a compter with windows

Yep, look like you need Windows for authorware player, or OSX or OS 9.

Re:It is not the best way to try Linux
Why don't you reinstall windows, do your and then, when you have some time, go back to Linux ?

Re:ls /usr/lib/libstdc++*

Re:where can i get libstdc++ and how can i check if i have it?

Re:For flash to work in Linux, make sure you have libstdc++ installed. Here is a link that show you how to install flash in Mandrake, installing flash (http://www.linuxiso.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15386&highlight=flash)

If you have questions about linux, go here (http://www.linuxiso.org/forums/index.php)

or here (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/index.php)

I got a lot of help using linux from these forums, among others. There are forums for specific Linux distros, such as www.mandrakeusers.org, which I use since I have mandrake 9.2

It would sucks if your website only work in Windows :(
