Q: Well, planning on making my home wireless network. For the deal to go to Amazon.com for a . Trying to figure out if I should go for USB client adapters (WUSB54G) or PCI (WMP54G). I am inclined USB, as both towers were on the floor. Any advice or issues with the USB version? Just checking. Many TIA for any replies / advice. :)

Re:Well the Signal can see the walls.:Q

It might be that the signal pass two walls might reach an Antenna that is Free of obstructions high above the Hardware.

However behind the Tower, it might need to hire a police dog in order to find the Antenna ;)

PCI was design mainly for the typical Office envioroment. The type that you have a big room divided to cubical with low partitions. One Antenna on the ceiling and every body enjoy Wireless.

In any case as far as Entry Level Wireless concern; Wireless Router, AP, PCI Card , USB Unit etc. They all are actually a PCMCIA card under the hood with the corresponded interface circuitry (this is one of the reasons why it is So inexpensive).:music:

Re:I don't see how going USB would change the amount of walls it needs to go through…

Re:You better make sure that you can return the PCI if it does not work.

Two walls stuck behind the Tower?

I doubt!

Re:Yeah, I was just thinking about it too. It really shouldn't make a difference since I'm going through two walls. I'll just go with PCI since my experience with USB hasn't been the greatest. Much thanks!

Re:By on the floor, are you wanting USB so the antennas will be higher? I wouldn't really see that as being much of a difference, but I could be wrong. I would stick with PCI myself, and I think most will agree, less cables, less to deal with, USB and networking is just a problem waiting to happen… This is why most ISP's don't use USB modems often if at all anymore (I troubleshoot for SBC, no more Alcatel Speedtouch modem).
