Loud hissing shrieks Scratches on mouse clicks and movements [hijackthis log] [bsod]

Q: For the experienced or Amateur Genius:

A Mystery: I get a spontaneous loud shrieking and hissing sounds when I click on a folder or file name, and sometimes scratching noises when I drag a window. This is intermittent and random. Happens and then stops. I got: No BSODs, no application or system errors recorded in the Event Viewer. No trojans or spyware I can detect with NAV 2003, u0026amp S, D and AdAware. A complete clean. Just a repair install of WinXP and the same happened. 15 hours stressed Mushkin memory. Memtest has absolutely no mistakes! Creative SB Audigy

Tried one, I had the same machine used previously, without popping and hissing and popping it was now when I drag a window, but did not hang long enough to see if he screams. So it seems to all sound.

Power on the 12 + ranges from 11.88 to 11.98. There seems not a heat problem (38c to 45c) to be. I disabled shadowing bios cacheing and u0026amp cool, quiet.

This seem to have started after a complete clean install of XP Pro that I did after I started getting BSODs with 9c exceptions. The exceptions 9c completely disappeared, but now I have this mess, thats beyond my capabilities to diagnose.

Need some serious help.

Thanks! Neo FSR Bios Rev.

Re:Solved! Turns out this problem is simply related to the speaker wiring. Anything from a loose plug to speaker and mouse cables in too close proximity can cause interference. Turns out I had rerouted and changed some speaker cables, and the mouse cable and speaker cable were entwined.

Thanks for the feedback!

Re:Things are starting to get interesting now. The machine was off all morning and I checked the event viewer. Had two Redbook error entries for my two optical drives saying they do not support digital audio and should be replaced.
I have a JLMS 166S DVD/CDROM drive and a BenQ 1610 DVDRW. Each has the latest Bios. DOH????

Next. I played a Music CD from the JLMS using the control on the front. Worked perfectly. Then I opened media player to try and play it from the interface. I got an interesting message:

The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL

Do you think it's time for a fourth XP Pro reinstall?

Re:NIS 2003
Soundman.exe the AC'97 controls
A Wacom Graphics Tablet
Empty Temp Folders 2.83

That is all.

Re:what software is running at boot

Re:Checked in Safe mode as well and NO conflicts. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

Good try since it would make sense for me to forget the obvious. Thanks.

BTW, I ihave the latest Via 4in1s and most current bios on the board. I also recall now that I recently noticed a strange buzzing sound intermittently when I would sometimes click on a link in IE. I didn't give it much thought, thinking it was actually a new sound scheme/theme or something. Maybe a precursor for this more extreme sound problems? And BTW music plays perfectly without pops and clicks with the AC '97 and would be like a muffled and scratchy old record, unlistenable with the Creative Audigy! I had to remove it since it was unusable.

Right now I am using the machine and it is OK, but suddenly, for no apparent reason, the loud screech will start. I tried to tie it to some event in the application or system logs but nothing indicates a particular app or event.
