Major problems in accessing files on a laptop [wireless router] [major trouble]

admin / February 22nd, 2011/ Posted in Networking / No Comments »

Q: The wireless connection on my laptop works ok for the most part, although it loses its signal several times a day and must be manually reconnected (yes, Ive tried changing the channels 1 to 12) 0.

real problme here is that every computer on the network attempts to access shared files on the laptop, the client side is the explorer.exe process in task manager requring it.

what revival was the cause? the in question is one of those el cheapo Fry electronics Airlink routers. I remember I once read are supposed to be a D-Link clone to be.

Re:If you put the Laptop close to the Router and your Internet connection through the Wireless computer works well I doubt that your problem is Wireless hardware related.

Re:try running both pcs in adhoc mode which is point to point wireless..

"if any of the other pcs have a wirelss connection"

If not most laptops have a network card intergrated try plugging into a hard wired port and see what happens.

You can also try a x over cable as well.
