MSI's Live BIOS Updater is broken! [bios updater] [irq]
Q: I bought parts to build a system from a place called netlink computers in Christ, and they got here fine. Ive installed my system and I had a period of about a week or two without problems. One night I decided to live Bios Updater try and I installed the latest version fine, but that version was incorrect, my sound card on the same IRQ as my video (I think what has happened, it was about 3 weeks ago ), so I did it again, but I told the second latest version of BIOS installed (2.1 I think) and in the middle was a mistake u0026quot; u0026quot, monitor, and again in himself, no post and began to beep. The board is really good advice, but I think the live BIOS updater is stupid! They should call it the u0026quot, Mobo MSI Live Screwer u0026quot;
Re:numero uno rule of bios flashing!
Never EVER EVER try to flash your bios in windows. It's much safer just to use a boot disk.
Re:guy I believe there have been quite a few emails to MSI about this from some major hardware Websites, the USB Irq sharing problem with Video card,so hopefully they should correct this in there next Bios update.

Re:I've noticed that alot of the problems with the live bios is from flashing to the same bios rev. you already have, Why would you do that anyway? Doesn't your bios either work or not work? Flashing your bios can be dangerous no matter how you do it. If you want to manually assign IRQ's, set your OS up using the Standard PC Hal during set up. Sharing IRQ's with an ACPI Hal, is normal and likely is not the cause of your lagging modem.
Re:Well, I had some experiences with MSI myself so… First Pro2A died 2 weeks after installation, second Pro2A now is acting like described above assigning USB hub to same IRQ as vid card which makes my ISDN connection via external USB device extremly laggy. Does anyone know a solution without downgrading the BIOS ?
Re:Its too bad you didnt read this board before trying the Live Bios, there have been numerous threads about this problem over the past month.
Good luck trying to fix your problem.
