My mother HDD LED is flashing isn't . [asus a7v333] [epox 8kha]
Q: It just keeps constantly. No flash. The computer runs perfectly normal, however. The mobo is an Epox 8KHA +. The hard drive is a Western Digital 40 gig. Tested my hard drive (same model) and the LED still does blink. Her hard drive in my computer (Asus a7v333) – It blinks.

Re:It won't hurt anything if it doesn't blink. and flashing your bios won't do anything for it. I actually had that problem and I switched my drives around and it fixed it. I had two hard drives slave and master and two cd's slave and master together, I just put both cd's as slaves to the hard drives and it worked. But it really won't hurt anything if you leave it alone.

What happens when you reverse the HD LED plug then? does it not work at all?
Have you tried switching over the HD LED and Power LED connectors for kicks to see what occurs?

Re:Try the bios flash for kicks… if that does nothing, make sure that the end of wire connecting to the actual case works fine. It sounds like you just have the wire connected to the mobo wrong though – but you established you did not, so that must not be it. I would check again I think… unplug all the little cables from that area and then replug them – sometimes you don't even realize it. You might just have to flip the cable – jumper 1 might not be in the correct position.

Did you hook up the HDD led to the motherboard? If so, reverse the plug.
If your HDD is the master make sure it's on the end of the cable and plugged and jumpered correctly. The red lead on the HD power cord and the red wire on the ide ribbon cable should be facing each other.
MacGood advice, with my chieftech cases the LED hook ups don't work if oriented correctly, they have to be on oriented wrong  But hey I don't question results.
Re:its connected correctly… should i try flashing the bios?
Re:on J3 pin #5 is HDD LED – pin #6 is HDD LED +
Down load this and look on page 3-10 (http://www.epox.nl/manuals/mu-8kha&8kha%2B11.pdf)
Re:Having the LED leads connected to the motherboard backwards would cause it not to light at all. My guess is that they are connected to the wrong set of pins.
Re:mom's hdd led isnt blinking eh?
time to format her….
then install Mom v2.0!
but yea, check that the wires are hooked up correctly
