Need info on setting up Voodoo SLI [trade forum] [mobo]

Q: Any good online references for this? I have an SLI setup of sales / marketing forum think it wold be easy to install, but my does not like PCI vid cards, so I decided that I would be well off to read the whole setup and process.

Re:Actually they can come in handy for some of the older 3dfx/software driven games, e.g. NFS2SE. Thats the main reason I got my two, although they aren't actually in any of my machines at the moment. You'll also find that some older games, Viper Racing for example, will run just as well on your GF2 as they do on your V2's, which is kinda cool (i don't know why thats cool, I guess i'm just an old school 3dfx fan).

Re:I guess sticking these in the same box as my GF2pro would be silly:P

I do have an old 4meg Matrox Milenium in my linux box that I could swap out.
This sounds like a fun little project (even though it isn't really productive in the literal sense of the word).

Re:Yup thats the ticket guy, now you just need any other video card you can get your hands on. If you can't find anything better an old 4MB S3 Virge PCI or similar should do fine for your 2D card. Hell you could even use an ISA video card if you want to.

Re:Thanks all, so if I understand correctly, I will have 3 vid cards in the computer at the same time? The 2 voodoos, and then the other (does it matter what?). I think then that I understand why the cards were appearing funny in the hardware profile.

Re:Ya' know…….. with all the advances in PC's over the last few years, I'll never forget the thrill of experiencing my first VooDooII SLI set-up :)

Re:Its really not that hard, you do have another card for the 2d right? The voodoo2 only goes when the software calls for it, so don't try to boot with only the voodoo2 in the machine. Other than that, just plug the v2's into your pci slots, put them next to each other or the SLI cable won't reach, obviously, put your passthrough cable from one voodoo2 to your main vid card and plug monitor cable into that voodoo2. Then just set them up in windows and your set.

BTW – your rigs link has some issues ;)
