Nero 5.5.5.1 on Windows XP “Average error rate” [medium speed error] [cd burn software]
Q: Hi, I was wondering if 977 503 anyonr had this problem or know how to fix it. Im running the new Nero software to burn to CD, XP, but my software keeps me this error. There is no buffer at all. I was wondering if it was the CD. I have a TDK TDK 12x media 12xA. I can not even burn at a lower level. The burner has always worked. It does not work anymore since I WinXP.: D

I have only used TDK media since I bought the drive. Now I have tried Verbatim and PNY. Anyone with more suggestions ??
Could it be dirty ? need calibration? How do I go about doing this ?
Re:so you can't burn at any speed on a CDR? but you can burn onto a cdrw? what type of CDR media are you using? have you tried different cd media. you said you have adptec 5.02c. i'm guessing that's Easy CD Creator 5.02c, does that burn anything?

I've tried it all still no go. Iave the latest ASPI layers still no go. Tried CloneCD it says everything is fuctional and it found no problems. The drive can burn CD-rW but not CDr which it used to. I have all the latest software Nero 5.5.6.4 and Adaptec 5.02c. I have tried each seprately and still n ogo.
More suggestions are great. Thank you;)
Re:Ok, try download CloneCD and check the options for laser power calibration. I think that helped one CDRW once. Worth a shot. Also do some tests burns.
Re:try using the update patch that guy suggested and also check to see if burn-proof is enabled. if that doesn't work, you might want to see if getting ASPI on your computer does anything. it's a program called forceASPI.

Re:well, try see if this helps. Go to admin tools, services, turn off IMAPI CD recording software.
