Networks internal hard drive externally to my PC [internal hd] [usb2ide]
Q: I found a USB2 IDE adapter. But how would I power the internal external HD? Would it come with the same 4-pin connector like it from my diet? This is the link . thanks

Best Answer: most of the information you posted is irrelevant.
the thing that really makes a difference is the type supported by your mobo. in this case, it supports a pci-e x16 card. just make sure that you are getting a card that is a pci-e x16 and not a pci-e 2.0 x 16. it helps to be compatible.
another thing you should check is the power supply. you need to be sure that the power supply has at least 1 pci-e connector. often video cards will require their own seperate power supply so check to make sure.

Re:Depends on what you are going to be using it for. If just temporary or for testing purposes then no enclosure might be better (I use one, less hassle when changing hard drives) but if you are going to be regularly using it as an external drive thenyou will definately want an enclosure.

Re:The power source is pictured as well as being in the description. I don't know why anyone would buy that when for another 10-15 bucks they could have the same thing WITH an enclosure for the drive.
