New computer will not turn on at all [psu master] [ati radeon 9700 pro]

Q: I just built a computer:

Athlon XP 2600 (SLK-900 GS with a smart fan)
Epox x Kingston 512MB DDR 8RDA 9,775,032 PC2700
ATI Radeon 9700 80GB Pro
WD HDD
Lite On CD case with 350 watt RW
Antec Lanboy PSU

I connected to the computer in, turned the PSU switch on, and nothing happens. No fans, no lights, no sound . nothing. Im pretty sure that everything is connected properly. The PSU is a small electric beeping noise when turned off (if that counts for anything). Help!

Re:I think there was some kind of grounding problem, I reseated the motherboard and plugged everything back in. It works great!

Re:I had that problem with the 8RGA+ version. Use the clear CMOS jumper.

Re:did you test the smart fan on another rig, maybe its broken….

Re:OK, I tested the PSU in another computer and it worked fine. I'm using a Thermaltake Smart Case Fan 2 as my CPU fan. The motherboard has this thing… if it doesn't detect a CPU fan, it won't turn on. I put the stock (crappy 60mm) fan that came with the CPU on there, and it booted up fine (I didn't leave it on very long as I didn't have anything in there but the CPU, mobo, and RAM). Whenever I plug the Smart fan back in (using the temperature sensor as in here (http://www.thermaltake.com/support/installations/v9.htm)) it won't come on at all. I also tried hooking the Smart Fan's three pin connector to the motherboard instead of hooking it up to the 4 pin adapter. That didn't work either. I've heard of other people who were able to use this fan on this motherboard… any suggestions?

Re:It could be the front panel switch, but may be a short between the mobo and the case. Remove the mobo from the case, set it on the static bag and connect the PS wires and vid card (all outside of the case) Tap the 2 pins that would connect to the front panel switch with a screwdriver tip and the board should boot up. Click here (http://www.bleedinedge.com/guides/psu_fan_r2/psu_fan_r2.html) for a pic of a way to make your PSU spin up without being connected to the mobo. Good Luck.

It's probably something really simple… ;)

Re:I did plug in the power button, reset button, and all the LEDs also. I tried booting it with just the CPU, Video, RAM and fans. Still nothing. I find it hard to believe that the PSU could be bad right out of the box. Could the switch not be properly connected in the front?

Re:Did you plug in the wires that connect the Power button, Reset button, and LED'S ??

Re:try to take out all computer components except for the essentials and run it again…

one thing to try out as well is if the power supply is working fine.. try to plug it in to some fans and see if it spins the internal fans in the antec.
