New Vista drivers from nVidia [repost] [nvidia]
Q: Probably a repost of LL Video.
I try this tonight on a 7950 GX2 w / Vista 32bit. Ill let you know how it goes.
Re:Woohoo, drivers specifically programmed to make benchmarks score better, but don't provide actual game improvements.
I haven't benchmarked any games. I have noticed the Dreamescene backgroup is MUCH smoother now, so there are some improvements here.

There is another refresh yesterday (May 2nd). Fixes my install issue on Quadro FX 4500 cards as well is benchmarking faster (my machine was gettng a 5.7 on video, now up to 5.9, the max)

Re:I'm afraid to try these, last driver gave me a blank screen – reboot didn't help either.

Re:Hope the latest drivers fix the problem with the video drivers resetting themselves every time I perform an "Undo" in Chess Titans. "Undo" is a critical part of my Chess-playing strategy.
Re:Yeah, looks like the 158.18 are WHQL now. I installed them just fine and can't really tell much different in games from the betas, but it's nice to see them making progress regardless.
Now I'm just waiting for new platform drivers for my nforce 4 board. I feel like the 15.00 still have more tuning and refinements needed. There is a leaked SATA driver floating around with a higher version number than what's included in the 15.00 package. I installed it and it makes a difference.
But things are most certianly coming along. ![]()

Re:Heh I just grabbed the newest from Nvidia lastnight. Ill wait and see if these have any issues before moving up a notch.
