I did this on a PC with NAV06 clients still installed yesterday and it worked like a champ.
You should also be able to trial the right to download and use your existing product key 2006.
Best Answer: Hi there,
Instead of all these "Mine is better than yours" answers that go on around here, I'll instead answer with the facts.
Quite simply – Yes, Norton IS much better than AVG.
Looking at current protection ratings, AVG scores a lowly 90% protection against all known viruses. This means they are letting through one in every ten viruses – pretty shocking.
Norton on the other hand is protecting against something like 98.3% of all known viruses – a much better score.
However as people have mentioned, Norton is know for being a very heavy program which can tend to slow down certain machines. If it is affecting your machine in the negative way you allude to, then I would consider swapping – BUT NOT to AVG..
If you would be interested in other Security products that are better than Norton or AVG, you should try either Prevx1, Kaspersky or F-Secure who all score over a 99% protection rating. Out of these three my recommendation would be Prevx1, as this is the quickest at protecting against new outbreaks of malware.
Re:i bought this at costco for 39.99 i think. Gives 3 licences and after i installed it (which takes quite a while) it seemed to work great. Even tho AVG i had installed said i was good, after i installed norton, it found an additional bunch of low risk tracking cookies ect that AVG had failed to find. Makes me wonder…
Re:I just tried this and it didn't work for me. The downloaded checking software complained about its inability to access keys (even though running an admin account). And I couldn't find the path to your link through the normal website. Maybe I'll try again later…
Re:Did I actually say great?
I have not tried any of the Norton '07 suites since I am not a suite person. :cookie:
Re:guy,
I read that you said NAV2007 is great, but how is the entire suite? Any better or still very bloated?
Re:Pc-cillin did that months ago.
It could have something to do with Vista being released.
