Q: Ok, I bought a new wireless system (BEFW11S4, WPC11 and WDT11) but I can not afford to have another network adapter and get. So I was wondering if it is possible to a win2k box with a wireless card and an Ethernet card on the same machine to share access to the Internet? I have the win2k box will now access the Internet from the wireless router fine. I was wondering if I can a back to my other machine in the and able to be the Internet?
Thanks for any ideas, Ive read and read in vain yet.

Re:What you need to do is, put 1 NIC in the server…. Run a cable from the server to a switch. Plug the other computers into the switch, then plug the Wireless AP into the switch. They should both be able to use ICS from the Win 2k server. Think of the Wireless AP as a layer 2 device…. The only thing it does is turn the CAT 5 signal to a Wireless Signal….. You can use the Wireless with ICS as well as the NICs then :)

Re:there are companies out there that make a multi port switch that you can put right into your computer. check ebay, i bought mine for 30 guys shipped. most have 4 ports and then all you need is some routing software for that computer and you be ready to go. (sorry, can't remember the name of the software off the top of my head, someone here knows though)

Re:I will go check out ICS or Sygate. There is a tab in win2k local area connection properties for "Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this computer", would that have anything to do with my solution?

Right now i have my linux server running NAT and the computer with the pc-card running win2k is fine, I jsut wanted to know how to get the NIC in it to feed internet access for 1 other computer. This is kinda weird and im sorry for being incomplete with my description.
Cant find out unless you ask. :)
Thanks so much guy!

Re:It sounds doable if you use some sort of software NAT, such as ICS or Sygate. Not sure, but you may have to do some routing configuration to get past what amounts to a "double" NAT setup.

Re:Ok here is why i am asking:
I have line quality issues from the garage to the house, I want to put my server in the garage and then have the wireless AP point to another computer in the office facing the garage. Problem is that i have my personall computer in the basement and wireless would be bad and expensive for 2 pc cards. So what options do i have to set this up?
