Panel displays “Not available” for the system info in Vista [cpu z] [device manager]
Q: Hey guys,
Just setting up a Q6600, Asus P5K mobo and Vista Home Premium. I have all the drivers installed for the chipset and what not, but Vista shows “Not available” for the rating system, processor and RAM. CPU-Z shows all the correct information so I know that everything works, and Device Manager shows all 4 CPUs at 2.4 GHz. Is this something that I worry about or should I just leave?

Re:I have the same problem on my Vista computer. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it happened after I installed Skype (version 3.6.0.216). Can you confirm that you installed Skype? I'm not too concerned and therefore won't uninstall it.
Re:Nah, everything is fine. I was just wondering if it's something I should be overly concerned about.
Re:Haven't seen that before. I'm assuming it hasn't affected the ability to use Aero or anything else? Just out of curiosity.
Re:Yeah, I did that and it gave me a score of 5.6. It doesn't seem to save it when I go back into the System in Control Panel though. *shrug*
Re:Vista runs a performance test during installation that determines your score and lists your relevant hardware. Another way of reaching the performance test is through the Control Panel, then the Performance Information and Tools applet. If there is not a way to refresh/update the system/score here, you can manually run it by typing the following from a command prompt:
winsat.exe
(or just "winsat")
