Playing DVD's – onboard Unichrome Pro or the old GF 2 MX200 PCI? [pci slots] [dvd rom drive]

Q: I have not been able to google much about this. Im building a low-end / low power C3 fileserver. I will keep on my stereo, so in addition to file serving tasks, I also use it to play MP3s on my stereo. I thought I would also set up to play DVDs (I am an old DVD-ROM drive threw in as well) as a backup on my standalone DVD player. The motherboard is a VIA CLE266 (2 only) based on one of the onboard Unichrome Pro, MPEG2 decoding has the specs listed below. I also dug up an old GF 2 MX200 32MB PCI card from a box of old parts that remain after a non-HP AGP box I removed years ago. Anyone have any idea what would be better for playing DVDs? Can not much available on the MX200 and it seems to have a number of features to support DVD playback, but I have no idea how it will compare with the onboard VIA graphics. In general, a standalone card would probably be better, but in this case? TIA.

EDIT: Made title of the thread a question. : P
EDIT2: Or should I spend $ 40-50 and get a newer PCI video card?
EDIT3: Unichrome Pro on board there, oops. Yes it is crappy. : P

Question about MCE 2005.

I have WinDVD 6 Platimum version. My graphics card is Geforce FX 5200 PCI Version. I am not using any TV Tuner Card. It is wired through home networking.

I cannot play DVD's on TV via MCE 2005. Any suggestions?

No experience with MCE 2005. Sorry. You should start a new thread about it. :) No one'll look in this old thread. :P

The Unichrome is a great multimedia/HTPC IGP and I wouldn't waste money on a G4MX if I had it.
Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll save myself the $$ then. :)

How to Really, Really Win at Slots
Re:Well, for anyone who's curious, the Unichrome Pro line (CLE266 onboard video) has both hardware assisted motion compensation and iDCT for DVD/mpeg2 playback. The GF2MX series has the hardware assisted motion compensation, but not the iDCT. How much of a difference this makes, I have no idea. :P

The GF4 MX and up have the nVidia VPE, which has all the hardware features for DVD/mpeg2 playback, the GF2 MX series apparently did not.

EDIT: Maybe I should just shell out the $40 or so for a PCI based GF4MX, eh? :)
