PLEASE HELP . FIXMBR: it will lead to loss of data on a dual boot scenario? [fixmbr] [dual boot]
Q: I installed W2K first . then installed WinME,
I modified the Boot.ini WinME
When I also try to boot into WinME it gives me an error W2K (boot.ini is correct)
Should I boot from the CD and use W2K FIXMBR to fix this?
If, I risk losing data?
ANY help would be appreciated

Re:Post the contents of your boot.ini.
The entry for booting Windows Millennium is not an ARC path.
Your boot.ini should look similar to the following:
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\ = "Microsoft Windows"
Note the last line is how WinME is loaded.

Re:Where did you install WinME?
What does the contents of your Boot.ini look like?
It could be that somehow you typo'ed your boot.ini without realizing it……
