Please help, I think my system is dying? [reset switch] [flake]

Q: Problem: I get lockups and spontaneous reboots. Usually my system will lock-up. I hit reboots, and sometimes and sometimes not. If not, the monitor stays in sleep mode, but the hard drive light is active (no beep and during a typical POST). Sometimes a lock-up during POST. It may be fine for a week straight runs, and then, as now, it will out for a few days and lock up several times a day.

heres my system specs (http://www.) ($ MySite / mysystemrig.html? Stiff = 4507) I tried

What / Remember: CPU Temp 42C max. There seems no other OS or SW problem, b / c of lock-ups during POST. Sometimes reset the BIOS needed to get it out of that “monitor suspend mode.” I tried default BIOS settings. I tried each 256MB stick itself in each of the DIMMs. PS is about 1.5 years old. Tried Failsafe BIOS settings. I cleaned the case of as much dust as I can see. Ive installed latest VIA 4 in 1 and nvidia drivers.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I really do not want to bring to a shop, but I will if that is what I should do: (

ya think the cpu sh!t the bed after only 2 years? I guess I can pull off my swiftech HS/Fan and swap it out, but I'd like to be sure its the cpu.

Don't be surprised with premature deaths when overclocking. After all, thats the risk of running anything faster than it was designed to.

Re:Did some research, and some others mentioned PS. Came home, system froze up a few times, swapped out my Enermax with a generic 300W, and its running fine so far. I even have it runnin at 150 x 10.

Re:Only 2 years? I've seen em poop before then, every company makes duds, just because its not that old doesnt mean anything

Re:can you test it out with a buddy's cpu? I suspect its the cpu like my friend's system.

Re:The cpu is running at default 1330MHz with default voltage.

Re:I notice your system rig is overclock, have you tried the default cpu speed. My friend had two AMD XP 2000 pretty much has the same problems, randon reboots, locks up on post etc. He wasn't even overclocking. Swapout a lot of hardware, it turn out to be the cpu. Temps weren't high either.
